Backbone Bookmark

So I will have been knitting up some bookmarks. There will be a series of them. Using the fabric stiffener really helped them be more bookmark-like. 🙂

Here’s a picture of the Backbone bookmark (by far my worst one).

Here is my pattern, I made the border around the edges thinner.

First here’s the code for those beginning kniters:

CN means Cable Needles. So CNB means to hold the cable needle in the back. CNF = front.

CO 17 stitches

Knit 1 row, P 1 row.

Row1: K2, P2, K9, P2, K2

Row 2: P2, K2, P9, K2, P2

Row 3: K2, P2, Sl3 to CNB, K1, K3 from CN, K1, Sl1 to CNF, K3, K1 from CN, P2, K2

Row 4: P2, K2, P9, K2, P2

Repeat rows 1 – 4 to desired length. Finish with Knit 1 row, P 1 row. Bind off. Block

Here is the original website with the original pattern.
