Knitted Makeup Bag

So, I’m very proud of myself. I made this bag for a friend of mine as part of the “gifty” exchange. (Like the bookmarks.)  This is probably an intermediate project, although in all honesty, the hardest part was simply trying to interpret the directions! There were a new couple of stitches I had to learn, but that’s what I’m all about. Nothing has been looking perfect, but I’m working on it. I’m still technically a beginner. Hopefully, my stuff will continue to look more and more polished.

So here’s the picture.

Here’s the link to the original website.

Below, I have my interperted row-by-row instructions. But, also here are some nifty abbreviations and videos for certain stitches. (These are the new things I learned with this project.)

wyib: with yarn in back (just hold the yarn in the back)

ssk-r-pso: ssk, return st to LH needle, pass next st over (the ssk st) and off needle, slip the ssk st back to RH needle. (Here’s a video)

sk2p: slip one purlwise, k2tog, then pass the slipped st over the k2tog st. (Here’s a video, although she’s left-hand knitting)

[k1, p1, k1] in next stitch: Exactly what it sounds like. (Here’s a video, although she’s doing p1, k1, p1, but same concept)

m1-r: make 1 right. (Here’s a video, this is theknitwitch, she has my favorite tutorial knitting videos)

m1-l: make 1 left (Here’s a video)
