NUMBERS 30

If a man makes a vow he is to keep his vow. If a woman, living with her father, makes a vow then the father decides whether or not the vow is legitimate. He can void the vow. If a married woman makes a vow, the husband has the ability to void the vow. But both must happen the day they find out about the vow.

Questions:

*Why can women not be in charge of their own vows? Is this because of headship?
